We have had a few days of unseasonably warm temps the last few days and I have to admit, I got a little excited for spring and summer.  Now is a great time to get your sunscreen stocked on subscribe & save so that you avoid having to run to the grocery store last minute and pay almost double for the same item.  And, it helps that this is cheaper than Costco too.  Banana Boat Ultramist SPF 30 Sport Performance Clear Twinpack, 12 Ounce for $10.47  At my local Costco they have the Coppertone version on coupon right now for $12.74+tax.  It is 2 bottles that are 7.5 ounces each.  These are 12 ounces.  They also have 2 small bottles totaling 2.6 ounces that usually end up clogging my shelves in my bathroom because I never use them and feel bad about throwing them away.  So, a total of 24 ounces at Amazon vs 17.6 ounces at Costco?  I'll take the extra ounces for over $2 cheaper and delivered to my door.

Banana Boat Baby Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50, 8 Ounce for $5.94 - I know that some people prefer the lotion to spread around.  I'll take the spray personally but to each their own.  This bottle is $5.94, at most grocery stores you'll pay at least $8.

Banana Boat UltraMist Kids MAX Protect & Play Clear Spray Sunscreen SPF 110: 6 OZ for $7.07.  This is SPF 110 - did you catch that?  That's a lot of something in there that probably doesn't make it much better than SPF 50 but it's a great marketing tool.  Still not a bad price at $7.07.

And of course, it snowed at my house yesterday, just to remind me that I won't be using these for a little while longer!

Extra 50% off diapers for new Amazon Mom subscribers

Ok friends, now's the time.  If you haven't signed up for Amazon Mom before, they are doing a promotion that gives you 50% off boxes of diapers, that can be combined with your 20% off subscribe and save prices as well.  You can get your free 90-day trial here if you have no Prime/Amazon account at all and you get all the same benefits as included in Prime.  If you already have a Prime account, it is free to sign up for Amazon Mom and worth it because they often do exclusive coupons, including this one.  It takes less than a minute.  Oh, and remember the part about where you can SHARE your membership with up to 4 people (and they will each have their own logins so you don't all see what the others buy) to help with the cost if you choose.

Ok, questions I anticipate:

  • I already have Amazon Mom, can I still get this? - sorry, this deal doesn't count then.  Bummer.
  • I have Amazon Prime already, is that the same as Amazon Mom?  -No, they are separate programs but you don't pay any membership fees if you already have Prime.  It's worth it to just sign up for Mom.
  • I had Amazon Mom a long time ago, does that matter?  -This promotion is for new members only.  You would need a different email address to sign up again.
  • How long does this last? - You have to sign up for Amazon Mom by April 10th.  Then you have  until June 8th to order your diapers with the extra 50% off.
  • What diapers qualify?  - Here is a list of their Qualifying Diapers
  • Is this cheaper? - Uh, yes.  Cheaper than Costco on coupon, Target store brand, yes.  Here's my previous post all about diapers.  And remember, they're delivered to your door so they aren't taking up half the room in your cart.

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins

We're getting ready for a family get together this weekend and so on my to-do list today is making pumpkin chocolate chip muffins.  They're easy, my kids love them, and they freeze beautifully which makes it easy for me to make them in advance.  The tricky part of this recipe?  They need a spice cake mix.  And for some crazy reason, the grocery stores here usually only sell them during the fall/holiday season.  Don't worry, Amazon has them on subscribe and save.
Betty Crocker Supermoist Spice Cake Mix, 15.25-Ounce (Pack of 6) - they are almost $2/box which is not a good price (I usually get them on sale for $1), BUT, if you haven't stocked up before, it's better than not having any to work with.

1 spice cake mix
1 15 ounce can of pumpkin
1 bag of chocolate chips

Mix, put in greased muffin tins and bake at 350.  For the mini size, cook about 15 minutes.  For the regular sized I did 20 minutes.  Check with a toothpick to make sure it comes clean and you're done.

Find other cake mixes on subscribe and save if you're interested.

Extra 10% off Nutiva Products

For those that are new to what the subscribe and save program is, I would recommend checking out details here.  Amazon will also throw in coupons all the time, they are easy to just click on and they are combined WITH your subscribe and save discount.  Just be sure to act fast, they will never tell you when the coupon will be over.  Even if you add it to your cart and it doesn't ship for a month, that's ok. You just have to have completed the subscribe and save checkout process to get the coupon.

Now, they have a great 10% off coupon on Nutiva products in addition to their regular subscribe and save discounts.  I've price checked these on Nutiva's site and Vitacost's site and here are my top picks in terms of best pricing.  Costco only sells a couple of Nutiva items.
Remember, you can use the 10% only once, but still, the regular subscribe and save prices are still great.  Take the 10% as a bonus!

Nutiva Organic Chia Seeds, 12-Ounce Bag (they also have a 32 ounce bag)
The 12 ounce bag is only $6.39 on subscribe and save, if you use your 10% off coupon it will drop it down to $5.59.  Costco sells the 32 ounce bag and assuming you paid sales tax of 6.85% it would be $14.86.  Amazon for the 32 ounce on subscribe and save with the coupon is $14.92.

Nutiva Organic Extra Virgin Coconut Oil, 54-Ounce Containers (Pack of 2)
These are massive containers, or there are smaller versions as well.  Pricing on 2 is $44.38 with subscribe and save, or $38.83 if you use the 10% off coupon.  Under $20 for this huge size and delivered to your door.  Costco sells a 78 ounce version of this and if you factor in tax, it makes it 32 cents/ounce.  This is 35 cents/ounce.  But, I appreciate a smaller container for the pantry instead of a mammoth 78 ounces.

Nutiva Organic Hemp Protein 15g, 3-Pound Bag - this ends up being $23.99 on your regular subscribe and save and drops to $20.99 if you use the coupon.  I'm trying this one for the first time, crossing my fingers that my kids and I like it!  Feel free to share any recipes.
