Cheap & Easy Diapers

As a new mom, I remember once or twice that I HAD to go to the store that day because I was out of diapers.  The first time was also the first time that my baby was sick, and I didn't want that to happen again.  I just want to be able to go down to my basement and grab a new pack when I'm out.  Amazon does the best prices if you're using a brand name diaper.  Cheaper than Costco with coupons, cheaper than getting them on sale at Wal-Mart and adding a coupon, etc.  I've heard good things about Target diapers, and everyone assumes they're the cheapest because they're a store brand.  Here's an interesting breakdown on pricing as of 12/2/13, and I'm not even including the $2 coupon Amazon has on Huggies.

**Costco and Target pricing includes sales tax rate of 6.85%, Amazon doesn't charge sales tax in the majority of the US
I've highlighted where it is cheaper or the same on my very nerdy Excel spreadsheet.  Why worry about buying them at the store when they can be delivered to your door?  Also, for size 4's, I calculated the exact difference per diaper and assuming your baby uses 4 diapers per day (120 diapers for the month) like my 18-month-old does, you're spending a whopping 29 cents more per MONTH to have them delivered from Amazon instead of buying generic at Target.

Newborn & Size 1: breakdown on my new mamas post here.

Size 2: Amazon has a box of 246 that's $36.00 making them .15/diaper.  They have a $2 coupon right bringing them down .13 each.

Size 3: Amazon a box of 222 will run you $36.38 making them .16/diaper. Add the $2 coupon to bring them down to .15.

Size 4: Amazon is 18.7 cents/diaper at $35.95.  With the $2 coupon it can be as low as 17.6.
Costco: without a coupon a box of 180 is almost .22/diaper, with the coupon it is still 18.8 - and that's before taxes!  I love the idea that even on Costco's best day it still can't compete with Amazon.  I sound like a crazy person right now.  ;)

And this is about the age where my daughter started wetting through her diaper at night.  These Huggies OverNites Diapers, Size 4, Big Pack, 60 Count solved our problem and that's a much cheaper price than the grocery store.

Size 5: Amazon will run you $36.79 for 172, making them .21 each.

I think it's safe to say, Amazon is the way to go on Huggies.  They also offer Pampers, Seventh Gen, Luvs, you name it.  So go ahead and get some ordered.  They won't take up half your cart, half your trunk, and you'll never run out of diapers again.
*Nervous about having too many?  You can return them for up to a year with free shipping, save them for your next baby, give them away as a baby gift, or sell them on your local FB yard sale page.
